In this course, polymer physics and polymer chemistry experiments were combined together associatedlly, to assist the students with their perceptions of the knowledge of polymer preparation and characterization, as well as to strengthen their understanding of the basic knowledge and principles of polymer chemistry and polymer physics. In this course, comprehensive training of the students on polymer synthesis, characterization and materials evaluation will be conducted, and the hands-on skills and implementing ability of the students will also be systematically developed.
The disciplines this course involves are diverse, including polymer chemistry, polymer physics, organic chemistry, physical chemistry and inorganic chemistry, which endues this course with the importance of cultivating students’ abilities of integrating and using a variety of experimental techniques. The study of this course will make students masters of polymer synthesis methods and technologies, characterization and material assessment, and be skillful at handling the common instruments and equipment in the laboratory. In addition, students will develop their abilities of solving all kinds of problems encountered during the experiments, which lays a solid foundation for their future scientific research and productive practices.
